As a high school freshman, he attended St. Fidelis Seminary High School in Butler, PA, and graduated from Swissvale High School in 1952. The day after graduation, Joe began a 4-year apprenticeship program as a tool and die maker at Westinghouse Electric Corporation.

Mrs. Wist kept all of her class lists so that when her kindergarteners graduated from high school, she could track down current addresses and send each student a graduation card with a personal note. She taught school until she was 72 years of age, and referred to it as the best job she could ever have hhad. She looked forward to returning each year to her classroom, counting the days until summer vacation ended. Her classrooms were filled with caring, learning, music, and even cherry pies (baked by the children on Washington's birthday). As is evidenced by the many cards, letters and visits she continued to receive up until her death, she was a dearly loved teacher.

She was an avid card player, hosting many parties for friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed anything to do with Harry Potter, and eagerly read and reread the entire series. There will be no visitation due to the Covid-19 pandemic. A memorial mass will be scheduled in the future. Brother of Carol Sherzer and Connie Runyon.

He was the President of the McCandless Athletic Association and oversaw the construction of the McCandless-Vincentian field complex where children still play baseball and softball. He coached both his daughters on the softball field. Larry was also president of the PIAA Greater Pittsburgh Chapter of Basketball Officials. He refereed high school basketball games all over the city and even refereed basketball games between inmates at the Western Penitentiary. When he retired from refereeing, he ran the clock during North Allegheny High School football and basketball games. Larry was an avid fan of all of Pittsburgh’s sports teams.

Eleanor was a very active woman and a figure in her community. She was well known in Franklin Park and Ingomar for her daily walks to work, to the grocery store, and to church. After just six months from retiring from teaching, she took a job as a counter clerk at Ruby's Cleaners in Ingomar where she worked until she was 82. She enjoyed being able to see former kindergarteners and their parents at that job. Eleanor was an early riser having grown up on her parents' dairy farm. Her friends and neighbors will remember her as a very social person who loved to entertain.

Barbara spent her career working as an administrative assistant and ultimately as an insurance agent. After retirement she went on to volunteer working with students with special needs.

Shirley spent much of her adulthood in the Washington DC area, where she pursued her passion in education as a teacher in the DC Public School system for 26 years. Following her early retirement from teaching, Shirley found a second career as a realtor for over ten years. Shirley returned to the Pittsburgh area almost twenty years ago, where she lived with her beloved cat Bella. On Friday, April 25th, 2020, Judy Ann Eberhardt passed away peacefully at the Wexford House Nursing Home at the age of 75 after a four-year battle with dementia. Judy was preceded in death by her loving parents Lester and Martha Reynolds, husband William Eberhardt, brother Herb Reynolds, and brother-in-law Don Eberhardt. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no visitation and private services.

He was blessed with four grandchildren, Jessica Self, Conner, and Kyle Wardrop and Eva Zosky; great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
